CERT Drill at Long Beach CA The scenario consisted of an apartment building sustaining damages after a major earthquake. Victims are assessed and treated. CERT procedures are reviewed, including: structural safety, light search and rescue and first aid/triage. This was a drill/review that took place in Long Beach, CA. Braden Phillips, chief of LBPD, conducted the drill. Helping out in the drill was the Sheriff's Disaster Communication division, firefighters, medical doctors, and many of the LB CERT community. Oh, yes, and an appearance by my daughter, then 1 year-old Bella. Though I'm a CERT trainer, I didn't participate. Instead, I stayed behind the camera and documented the event. My roles on this project: concept, produce, documentary cameraman, edit, graphic effects, music mixing, distribute to LBFD and LB CERT for demonstration purposes.
